Eli started making records during the previous millennium. These days he mostly works at Figure 8 Recording in Brooklyn. He has made records with artists like tUnE-yArDs, Laurie Anderson, Marc Ribot, Deerhoof, Why?, Erase Errata, Thee More Shallows, Mike Watt, Kyp Malone, and quite a number of other amazing people. John is an engineer and multi-instrumentalist. He has studied engineering with Myles Boisen, guitar with Morris Acevedo, Myles Boisen, and Richard Festinger, and musical drinking straw with Aaron Bennett. John has worked on records with Fred Frith, Crime, Knights of the New Crusade, Tango No. 9, Aphrodesia, Edmund Welles, and many others. He plays guitar in many bands, including Go-Go Fightmaster and Bait and Switch.
Ian is a freelance Recording and Mix Engineer with over 13 years of experience. He loves his job and smiles all of the time. The Dodos, John Vanderslice, Deerhoof, There’s Talk, Thao and The Get Down Stay Down, and Strand of Oaks are some of the people he’s been fortunate to make records with. He used to play guitar in a band called Dilute.
Jay is a recording engineer who’s been working out of San Francisco for over 13 years. He loves recording people.
Besides working at New, Improved Recording, some of the places he’s worked at are: the Music Annex, Jackpot!, Hyde Street Studios, and was also a house engineer at Tiny Telephone for 13 years.
